Tip of the Day

6 Tips for Better Self Awareness:

.

1.    Take time out in the day to close your eyes, take two deep breaths, and bring your focus and awareness down into your body. Scan each part and just notice any discomfort that may be present there.

.

2.    Try to name a word that describes any sensations you may feel. For example, is there a tightness, burning, or throbbing, or a sharp pain sensation anywhere?  Or is there a more subtle sensation of hollowness, buzzing, or a vibrating feeling?

.

3.    Start to think about it metaphorically. Ask yourself quietly: How does this body sensation relate to anything going on in my life right now?  What are the challenging circumstances that I am dealing with, and who are the people involved?

.

4.    Then ask yourself:  How am I showing up in this situation?  Am I taking on any characteristics of a Victim, a Rescuer, or a Persecutor? Note this as something to explore sometime soon – you could journal about it, or talk to someone to process insights that come to you.

.

5.    Once you have explored these questions, then shift your thoughts to all the things you are grateful for in your life.

.

6.    You should then begin to feel better and experience a positive shift in your energy.
